As a curious person, Bourgeois is gifted endlessly by Mother Nature, Who tirelessly provides a bounty of  potential investigations. She demands the artist's attention, and captivates Bourgeois, even on daily walks with her red Cockapoo Oliver. She frequently collects leaves, twigs, unidentified tree growths, seed pods, rocks, bark,  etc. and returns to her studio with them. Shapes, lines, patterns identified in her treasures influence her compositions.

Bourgeois has a bumper sticker that says "EARTH" perfectly describing two of her greatest passions... Earth and art.
